Privacy policy
Effective October 29, 2026.
Planetek LLC (“we”) makes CertLighthouse. This policy covers this website and the CertLighthouse app. The app hasn't launched yet; we'll update this policy before it does if anything below changes.
This website
- No cookies, no analytics, and no advertising or tracking scripts.
- Fonts and images load from this site, so your browser doesn't contact any third party.
- If you pick a light or dark theme, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage on your device. It never leaves your device.
- The site is served by Amazon Web Services, which processes your IP address to deliver pages. We don't keep a log of individual visits.
The app: what we collect and why
| Data | Why | Linked to you | Where it's held |
|---|---|---|---|
| Email and name, from Apple, Google, or email sign-up | Your account | Yes | Amazon Cognito |
| Your user ID and an install ID | Your account, sync, and usage statistics | Yes | AWS |
| Progress, sets, mock history, diagnostic results, and settings | Running the app for you | Yes | AWS |
| Purchase history | Unlocking what you bought | Yes | RevenueCat and the app stores |
| Usage events, such as a question answered or a screen opened | Improving the app; never shared | Yes, by user ID | AWS |
| Crash reports | Fixing crashes | No | Sentry |
- You can use the app without an account. Until you create one, your progress stays only on your device.
- Sign-up uses Apple, Google, or email only. We never ask for a phone number, birthday, or address. Consumer accounts are for people 13 and older.
- Usage events contain IDs and fixed values only, never your email, name, anything you type, question text, or your IP address. You can turn them off in Settings, under Privacy.
- Crash reports carry no IP address, no account identity, and no question or answer text.
What we don't do
We don't sell personal data, show ads, use advertising or data-broker SDKs, or track you across other apps and websites. The app doesn't use third-party analytics.
Who processes data for us
- Amazon Web Services, which hosts the app, its data, and this website in the United States.
- Sentry, for crash reports, using its US data region.
- RevenueCat, to manage purchases made through the App Store and Google Play.
- Apple and Google, if you sign in with them or buy through their stores.
How long we keep it
- Account data and progress: until you delete your account.
- Usage events: 13 months in full, then only as monthly totals.
- Backups: up to 35 days, after which deleted data is gone from them too.
Deleting your data
Delete your account in the app under Settings, then Account, then Delete account. That removes your account, progress, sets, mock history, diagnostic results, settings, and usage events, and revokes Sign in with Apple access if you used it. A web page for deleting an account without the app will be available at launch. Purchases stay with your Apple or Google account and can be restored later.
Schools and training programs
When a school licenses CertLighthouse, the school owns its students' records and our use of them is limited by the school's agreement with us. More on institutional use.
