Accessibility statement

CertLighthouse aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA in the app and on this website.

What's built in

  • Every drag-and-drop or placement task has a keyboard and screen-reader equivalent: select an item, then select its target.
  • Network diagrams come with an equivalent list view, and their graphics carry text descriptions.
  • The command-line simulation is real, selectable text that follows your font size, and new output is announced to screen readers.
  • Right and wrong are always shown with an icon and a word as well as color, and status colors are blue and orange rather than red and green.
  • Text meets a 4.5:1 contrast ratio in both the light and dark themes.
  • Layouts hold at 200% text size without horizontal scrolling.
  • Mock exams offer 1.5× and 2× time for learners who test with accommodations, and the timer announces at 10 and 5 minutes left.

How we test

Automated accessibility checks run on every change to the web app and this website, in both themes. Before each release we test by hand with VoiceOver on iOS and macOS, TalkBack on Android, and NVDA on Windows.

Conformance report

We'll publish an Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR) based on the VPAT template before the app launches. Institutions that need it sooner can ask us for the current draft.

Report a barrier

If something in the app or on this site is hard or impossible to use with your setup, email service@certlighthouse.com and tell us what you were trying to do, the device and assistive technology you use, and the page or screen. Accessibility reports get priority.
