CertLighthouse

Instructors

Built to work in a classroom

CertLighthouse is made by an instructor who teaches CompTIA A+. Institution features come after the consumer launch; this page describes what's planned and how we'll handle student data.

What instructor mode will include

  • Class codes and rosters

Students join with a code, and you manage seats for the term.

  • A class dashboard

Readiness by student and a class-wide map of objectives, so you can see which topics need another lesson.

  • Assignments

Objective drills and mock exams with due dates.

  • Teach to the misconception

For each question, the most-picked wrong option and its explanation.

  • Assigned sets

Build flashcard sets and assign them; students get a read-only copy they can duplicate.

  • Gradebook export

CSV export first, with LTI 1.3 for Brightspace and Canvas planned after.

Accessibility

Public colleges are responsible for the accessibility of the tools they adopt. CertLighthouse targets WCAG 2.1 AA throughout, including every simulation, which each have a keyboard and screen-reader path. Mock exams offer extended time for learners with accommodations.

We'll publish an Accessibility Conformance Report before launch. Our accessibility commitments

Student data

Under an institutional license, your institution owns its students' records, and we sign your data processing agreement. Planetek acts as a school official under your direct control for FERPA purposes: student records are used only to provide the service, never sold or used for advertising, and never shared except as the agreement allows.

We collect the minimum: name, school email, and progress. There are no ad or third-party analytics SDKs in the app, and records are deleted on request and at the end of the contract.

The agreement names every subprocessor: Amazon Web Services for hosting, Sentry for crash reports with no personal data, and RevenueCat only for app store purchases.

High-school CTE programs fall under state student-privacy laws such as Colorado's Student Data Transparency and Security Act. We review the requirements for your state before a pilot starts.

Talk to us about a pilot

If you teach CompTIA A+ or CompTIA Network+ at a college, workforce center, or high-school CTE program and want to be part of an early pilot, email service@certlighthouse.com. Institutions will pay by invoice or purchase order, outside the app stores.
